Some people would say that I am cheap, lol, but I prefer to think of it as frugal or smart with my money. I have serveral 'bargain shopping' websites bookmarked and often turn to them when i am shopping for a bargain. Today while i was browsing them i came across a deal that is far too good to pass up and i had to share it with anyone else who wants to take advantage of it.
Citizens Bank is giving $50 to everyone who opens a new account with a $100 deposit.
The fineprint is pretty simple, the $50 will be deposited within 30 days, but you have to keep the money in the bank for 3 months. After the 3 months you can do what you want, close the account, spend the money, etc. This wouldnt be such a great deal, but the the time frame is so short, they offer no fee accounts, and they are a legit financial institution.
(they did a similar thing 2 years ago to get new accounts and it was pretty successful.)
Basically it is like putting $100 into a 3 month GIC and getting a 50% return, which is a 200% annualized return. AMAZING!!!!!
You can read the deal yourself, but it is like free money. If you already have enough money, please do this and donate the money to those in need.
