Well i have only been a member of active rain for a few days now but have enjoyed it more then i imagined. I have conversed with several people i never would have had opportunity to meet otherwise. I have also add several new links and resources to my toolbox of great ideas which i hope to one day get to using.
Yesterday i read a blog by a member who had reached 100k points. Truly amazing to see and remarkable how much that member has contributed to this site and to other members. While i don't yet have aspirations that lofty, i do think that i need to set a short term goal for myself of reaching 5000 points. I know that to most of the active members that isnt such a big deal, but it will be for a newb to blogging like myself.
I plan to gain points by referring my associates to the site, writing a blog a day, and interacting with a small portion of the members that i have been reading instead of just lurking and reading so many others blogs without response. I am also going to make an effort to welcome and interact with new members, as i certainly have appreciated those who have welcomed me to the site.
